How to Apply
Step 1: Offline application — step 1
To appear in the scholarship examination, a student can collect the application form from the Block Education Officer’s office or download it from the School Education Department’s website ( https://schooleducation.uk.gov.in ) or the SCERT Uttarakhand website ( https://scert.uk.gov.in/ ) during the months of June-July every year. At present, the application process is offline, and no application or examination fee is required. While filling the application form, the student must attach a passport-size photograph, Aadhaar card, Class 5 passing certificate, admission card for Class 6, caste certificate if applicable, disability certificate if applicable, and Aadhaar-linked bank account details. The student must ensure that all information provided in the form is correct and then submit it to the Principal of the school where he or she is studying. The Principal verifies the form on the basis of documents and school records, attests the photograph, and forwards the form to the Block Education Officer’s office by the stipulated date, which is usually around 21st August. After verification, the Block Education Officer issues the admit card. Students can collect the admit card from their school or from the Block Education Officer’s office. The examination is conducted every year in September in an objective-type multiple-choice format. Students who are placed in the merit list are informed by the Principal, after which the scholarship amount is directly credited to the student’s bank account.
