    How to Apply

    1. Step 1: Online application — step 1

Researchers must submit their research proposals online through the Samarth portal ( https://uttarakhand.samarth.ac.in/index/site/login ). During the application process, the proposal must be uploaded and forwarded by the institution’s Principal or Registrar within fifteen days of submission; otherwise, it will automatically move to the next level. The proposal will then be evaluated by the Evaluation Committee, and the research grant will be released in three installments via DBT to the institution’s Research and Development Cell account. Upon the written request of the Principal Investigator, the Principal or Registrar must make the grant available to the Principal Investigator or Researcher within three days. If this is not done, the State Research and Development Cell Committee must be informed through the Director of Education with clear written reasons, and the final decision will rest with the Secretary, Higher Education/Committee. The first installment, amounting to 50% of the grant, will be released upon approval of the research proposal. The second installment, amounting to 30%, will be released only after submission of the utilization certificate. The third and final installment, amounting to 20%, will be released upon completion of the research work. The research must be original and in accordance with UGC standards. A Research Assistant will receive a stipend of ₹5,000 per month from the release of the first installment until the completion of the research work.
